I was excited about being a part of Dasha’s rebranding journey. I don’t remember how I officially met Dasha but from what I can remember it’s always been support and love. I enjoyed being a part of her Facebook Group, The Broke Black Girl. Dasha quoted one of my blogs in one of her financial eBooks, she allowed me to host a live video session about my student loan journey in her Facebook community, and she even connected me with a media outlet. I’m telling you it’s been nothing but love. Dasha has spoken on my Boss Talk Panel and I’ve participated in her Girlpreneur Expo. If you never attended one of the expos I hate to say that you really missed out! Again, I don’t know how this friendship began but it’s been such a pleasure working with her. When it was time for Dasha’s photoshoot she came READY!
Makeup and hair was on point and not to mention she showed up with one of my favorite people of all times, Christina Roberts, Atlanta’s Image Consultant and Style Blogger. Christina was on set assisting with styling, posing, and just overall client support. I can honestly say when clients come with their stylist or just a friend it helps tremendously. Dasha was prepared, relaxed, and confident. Lets just say, everyone understood the assignment.

I can’t begin to put my experience with Mena into words, so I’ll walk you through my photoshoot moment by moment. For starters, Mena was on time, the studio was clean, all of the props I requested were available, and Mena assisted with the placement of the props I brought with me. She gave terrific directions and helped with posing and angles the entire photoshoot. I expressed to Mena what my insecurities were when it came to photos, and she made sure to capture me in angles that made me feel most confident. The delivery of the edited version of the images was swift! I’ve gone on to use those same photos and headshots in both digital and print magazines. Mena takes timeless images with an unmatched experience, and I can’t wait to work with her again.
